Original structure was built in 1815. The Heritage Center was dedicated to the community in 1993.
Acquisition
The Anderson Township Trustees purchased the 5.28 acre tract of land in 1991 to save the historic home on the premises and preserve the bulk of the tract as Green Space. While the Anderson Township Government has retained ownership, the property is maintained and managed by the Anderson Township Park District.
Description
This historic home, dating back to 1815, is truly an outstanding testament of early life in Anderson Township. With many of the original elements intact, the rental facility has a large gathering room, kitchenette, restrooms and a furnished living room with a decorative fire place. The grounds consist of a patio, gazebo and lawn area.
